John Terry Golf Charity Day

Over £40,000 raised for charity
Former Chelsea and England captain John Terry hosted a hugely successful charity golf day at the prestigious London Golf Club on Thursday, 9th October 2025, raising over £40,000 in support of the Red Eagle Foundation.
The day brought together sports stars, supporters, and business leaders for a memorable event filled with friendly competition, laughter, and generosity — all in aid of improving the lives of disadvantaged children and families across the UK.
One of the highlights of the day was the Bertie Boucher Challenge on the 18th hole, where participants were invited to “hole a putt with a Bertie Boucher putter” for a chance to win a customised Bertie putter. Six golfers successfully sank their putts, including former Olympian Mark Foster and ex-footballer and broadcaster Scott Minto, earning themselves a unique keepsake to mark the occasion.
During the Bertie Boucher Challenge, John Terry decided to put his skills to the test — and in true JT fashion, he did it right-handed. For those who don’t know, John is actually a left-handed golfer, so this was no small feat. Impressively, he came incredibly close to sinking the putt, proving that natural talent (and perhaps a touch of Bertie Boucher brilliance) goes a long way.
It was a light-hearted moment that summed up the day perfectly — competitive, good-natured, and full of smiles. One thing’s for sure: John Terry’s golfing class was on full display, no matter which hand he used!
Later in the evening, guests enjoyed a Q&A session with John Terry, who shared stories from his glittering career, insights into leadership on and off the pitch.
The fundraising efforts continued with a lively auction, where one of the bespoke Bertie Boucher putters sold for £400, adding to the impressive total raised for the foundation.
The Red Eagle Foundation expressed their gratitude to Terry and all attendees for their generosity and enthusiasm, noting that the funds raised will go directly toward providing essential resources, equipment, and opportunities for children in need.
The combination of sport, community spirit, and charitable giving made this year’s John Terry Charity Golf Day a standout success — and a clear reminder of the power of teamwork, both on and off the course.
