About
An insight into Bertie Boucher
How did it all start?
Started when a friend had a beaten up old putter in which he had refurbished and customised to his specification. I saw the transformation and thought it was incredible. With being in engineering I thought that I could do the same to my putter. I then changed my putter from a stainless steel look to all black with complete different text and got all the dinks and scratches out, I then started an instagram account in showing before and afters of putters that I completed. People started contacting me and sending putters for me to do to their requirements. It then dawned on me that I could start a company in which I offer the customer the opportunity to buy brand new to their design over a configurator.
Why called Bertie Boucher?
When the idea came to start up a customised golf putting business my partner was pregnant and we decided not to find out the sex of the baby. We decided on the girls name and for a boy we had Bertie, we had a girl so I then thought why not call my business Bertie Boucher.
Background information?
Over 10 years in Aerospace engineering and Metal Treatment. Started out at Metal Treatments in which I learnt NDT (non destructive testing), after a year learning I then went travelling for 3 months before moving to the engineering company. I then started out on manual milling machines whilst doing an apprenticeship in business and engineering. Once I learnt the basics I moved to the production office in which I ran an account in progressing parts through all processes from raw material to final product through the shop floor. I then moved into management and learnt KANBAN and many other procedures in which I have implemented into the BB business. My time within the engineering industry has given me many skills in which I can incorporate in my new business
